Support Las Vegas During National Travel and Tourism Week 2016
National Travel and Tourism Week is right around the corner and we need your help keeping Las Vegas top of mind as the world’s leading destination for leisure and business travel!
Each year during the first week in May, the tourism industry nationwide celebrates National Travel and Tourism Week, a program developed by the U.S. Travel Association. The LVCVA has several activations planned for this year’s celebration, which takes place May 1-7, 2016. This nationwide week of events serves to champion the power of our industry, and is America’s annual salute to travel and tourism.
The LVCVA will be creating press materials detailing special events, displays and offers found throughout the community during National Travel and Tourism Week. There are many ways you can show your support. Please email Amanda Arentsen email@example.com with a description of your National Travel and Tourism Week plans to be included in media outreach and communications. Below you’ll find a few suggestions for joining the celebration.
Join us on Rally Day
Show your support for Tourism and Travel on Tuesday, May 3, at 3:30 p.m. The LVCVA will be hosting our annual Tourism Rally at the Toshiba Plaza adjacent to the new T-Mobile arena off of Las Vegas Blvd. The rally is expected to feature special entertainment, community delegates, and of course Host Committee Chairman Oscar Goodman along with his showgirls.
“Go Red” for Tourism
Let’s paint the town red! Per the U.S. Travel Association, the color red represents unity in our industry among travel and tourism workers and supporters coast-to-coast. We encourage you to wear red during Travel Rally Day on Tuesday, May 3. Additionally, businesses and landmarks throughout the community are also encouraged to turn signs, lights and decorations red to mark the occasion. Be sure to share photos showing your support for National Travel and Tourism Week by tweeting us @VegasHosts.
Show thanks with a National Travel and Tourism Week Special
National Travel and Tourism Week discounts, specials and signature items provide another fun way to engage our visitors and the local community. Let us know if your business is offering a discount for customers who mention National Travel and Tourism Week, or perhaps your business could create a signature red item in celebration of the week-long event. Don’t be afraid to get creative and have fun!
Chairman Oscar Goodman and his showgirls will be surprising visitors at different locations along the Strip and Downtown with promotional items and special give-aways with your assistance. Please let us know if you can provide show tickets, attraction admissions and free meal or drink offers to thank tourists for choosing Las Vegas to visit during National Travel and Tourism Week.
